Battle the Bulge!
I just wanted to bang out a quick note to tell all of you HAPPY TURKEY DAY! And as excited as I am about all the yumminess going on, I want to encourage you NOT to overdo it this year (remember how miserable you feel EVERY year because your mind was bigger than your belly?) STOP the turkey madness!
Drink a couple glasses of water before you eat – trust me, this helps with the hunger and slows down your appetite.
Eat breakfast – Think it’s a good idea to skip meals on the big feast day? Think again – eat breakfast AND a light meal or quality snack a couple hours before you eat the big meal. This will stop you from shoving everything you see down your face!
Watch the alcohol – “Whaaaat?!” That’s what you’re saying right now, isn’t it? But consider how many calories you’re drinking (often this goes unnoticed). Is it worth it? Hmm…that depends on the wine we’re drinking…anyway the point is BE PICKY!!
Go for a walk – A no-brainer, I know. But how many of us actually do this? There’s a first time for everything!
As for me, I’m headed to meet the fam and then I’m skipping the Black Friday shopping (like I do every year -you are NOT reading a shopping diva’s weblog right now), and am headed to the annual Trim Your Turkey super circuit workout held by a trainer/friend I work with, who also is going to end up marrying my best friend. Awwww.
Can’t wait to sweat out the sweet potatoes!
