Breakfast Before Workout – To Eat or Not to Eat?

I get asked frequently about eating before a morning workout or waiting until afterward. The answer to that really depends on your energy requirements. Some of you (aka: me) may need a little fuel to get you started and help maximize your workout. If so, try having a glass of orange juice diluted with water, a piece of whole wheat toast with a dab of peanut butter (read: a DAB, my friends!), or half a banana for a quick boost of energy.

Keep in mind: Whenever you eat before a workout, you should keep it light, or if you workout after a large meal leave enough time to digest. No matter when you choose to exercise, you never want to do it on a full stomach. If you eat too much you’re likely to feel lethargic or get a cramp…which leads to quiting halfway through. Boo! Keep it light and your belly will thank you!
